‘The Cradle Of Primordial Life’ is the name of the new collection by fashion designer and artist Dorina Hartmann, coming from her label ‘RINIZOI’.
Her work expresses a fascination for the underwater world and is inspired by the Greek antiquity. She combines contrasting elements such as past and future, and creates a progressive, unique collection while being in step with the zeitgeist. For example the ancient sculpture-like chest protector, which creates a tension between the softly falling fabric of the dress and the poured plaster of the chest protector.
She creates avant-garde and futuristic aesthetics by using innovative fabrics like neoprene and powernet in combination with classical fabrics like chiffon and georgette. The draping techniques used are hand sewn and inspired by the old Greek technique.
Dorina Hartmann presents her collection on June 8 at the Friedrichstadtpalast as part of the ESMOD University of Fashion graduation show.
