The 2nd annual Berlin Music Video Awards festival will take place May 28-31, 2014 at Platoon Kunsthalle in Berlin Mitte/Prenzlauer Berg. An event designed to highlight the dialogue between artists and filmmakers in the production of music videos, last year’s award nominees included a wide variety of unsigned and large named musicians—such as Thom Yorke, Sigur Ros, and Justice.
Throughout the festival there will be a series of workshops, live shows, music video screenings, lectures, award ceremonies, and after parties. Not only will the festival award the work of musicians and filmmakers, but it will also serve as a great networking location for artists working in all media.
The 2014 Berlin Music Video Awards is calling for submissions until April 1, 2014.
Even if the video is low budget or the musician is unsigned, it doesn’t matter — all are welcome to submit. The categories for prizes include: Best Concept, Best Animation, Best Live Act, Best LoFi, Best Photography, Best VJ, Best Art Director, Most Trashy, Best Special Effects, Best Editor, Best Director, Best Production, Best Song, Most Bizarre, and Best live act. All winners will receive a Berlin Music Video Awards trophy and the winner for the Best Video Production will be awarded 1,000 euros.
