The Gray Voice Ensemble is back with their 2015 Winter Program, presenting a joint concert with Californian electro-pop artist Poppet. The Gray Voice Ensemble is a Berlin-based community choir that sings the intriguingly strange and meditative music of Albert McCloud, arranged and directed by Elisabeth Wood. After successful concerts in 2013 and 2014, the expanding fifty-person choir returns with three concerts over the first weekend of December, 2015. Visiting artist-in-residency, Molly Raney, a.k.a. Poppet, joins the choir in concert with her fully orchestrated electro-pop performance When There Are No Birds, a story of the bondage in embodiment, with nods to the likes of Moondog, Kate Bush and Björk. Raney featured in 2011 as the solo soprano alongside Wood’s Europa Men’s Choir for the production of European Images at KW Institute for Contemporary Art.

Hosted at Blue Tap studio in Neukölln, the concert has three showings including 15:30 and 20:00 on Saturday 5 December, and 20:00 on Sunday 6 December. Tickets are 6 – 12 EUR (sliding scale). For more info see their Facebook event.
