The independent art hub Radar Sofia has opened a residency for writers in Sofia, Bulgaria. Located in the centre of the capital city, the space offers a free year-round live/work space, networking and presentation opportunities. They support art forms that engage audiences in current contemporary topics, and to support projects of artists at risk, creators who have been persecuted or censored due to the nature of their work or because of their race, sex, gender, ethnic origin, religion or political views.
The environment of the residency is geared towards writers, and special preference is given to dramaturgy and the performing arts. Filmmakers, visual and interdisciplinary artists who do not require large studio spaces are also encouraged to apply. Selected artists’ work will be presented to the local audience and will be introduced to artists in their field. The duration of residencies vary between one and four weeks.
