Forecast Invites Artists and Creative Practitioners to Apply Now

Feb. 01, 2019

Forecast, the international platform for knowledge-transfer based in Berlin, recently launched its Open Call for the 2019–20 edition. Artists and creative practitioners across all fields are invited to apply with projects that tackle issues concerning the future and what we can do to actively shape it. From the pool of applicants, 18 participants will be chosen; each will be assigned a mentor and invited to present their ideas at the Forecast Forum from July 1–7, 2019, at Radialsystem in Berlin.

Following the Forum, the six mentors—multimedia artist Candice Breitz (ZA), artist and internet activist Paolo Cirio (IT), musician Okkyung Lee (KR), cartoonist Anders Nilsen (US), radio reporter Joe Richman (US) and designer Jerszy Seymour (UK/CA)—will each select one concept that they will accompany to its realization. The six final mentees will receive a production budget, artist fee and nine months to realize their ideas. In addition to independent exchanges with their mentor, the program also includes a work-stay for both at one of six hosting partner institutions. The final projects will be presented to the public at the Forecast Festival, from March 30–April 5, 2020, at Radialsystem.
