Up to 35 Fellowships are Available at the Netherlands’ Jan van Eyck Academie

Sept. 7, 2018

Artists, designers, curators, photographers, architects, writers and critics can now apply to participate in a six- to 12-month residency at Jan van Eyck Academie in the Netherlands. Being a post-academic international talent and artistic development institute with several labs, exhibitions and programs that focus on a range of artistic expressions, the fellowship will offer a diverse and supportive working environment for its recipients.

The length of the fellowship will be determined by Jan van Eyck after submission. Fellows will receive their own studio, access to well-equipped labs, attend public events, talks and workshops, as well as be visited by advisors and develop collaborations with varying partners. They will also be granted a monthly stipend of €900 to cover living accommodations and personal expenses, and a working budget of €2,000 for 12 months (with pro-rated amount for fellowships lasting less than one year).

Applications should include a project proposal (500-word maximum), first ideas for an In-Lab (500-word max.), documentation of recent work and a resume. The application fee is €70, and if selected, there is an enrollment fee of €2,750/year, which would also be pro-rated depending on length of fellowship. Fellows are responsible for their own accommodations but should be located in Maastricht or its surrounding areas. Somewhere between 32 and 35 fellowships will be awarded.
