Berlin Art Link - JulieWaldorff

Julie Waldorff’s upcoming photography exhibition will take place in and is a tribute to the iconic towers at both ends of the Knippelbro Bridge, built across from the Inner Harbour of Copenhagen, Denmark. The theme and inspiration of the show is “heights”, with the exhibition installed throughout the 5-story space as a poetic insular universe. With each new circular level, a new experience is had by the viewer, and the idea of levels is explored both through the subjects of the photographs and by physically moving upwards. The viewer is led from the underground floor, up through each level, until finally arriving at a birds eye view at the top of the tower. About Knippelsbro, Julie states “The tower on the bridge ”Knippelsbro” is inspired by the idea of a submarine that has been raised up. This vertical experience of moving up in perspective has inspired me. I have in my photo exhibition worked to create and build a variety of unique photographs for the tower ”Kulturtårnet på Knippelsbro”, which gives the audience a feeling of moving from underwater to above the treetops.”
