For their upcoming summer show, BQ Berlin presents ‘Augury’, an extensive month-long exhibition and event programme that explores the theme of reading and literature in the art world. Compiled by Adam Ferron, John Holten, Caique Tizzi and Raphaela Vogel, ‘Augury’ examines the changing forms and use of reading in the past, present and future.
In conjunction with the exhibition, ‘Augury’ will feature five Friday evenings of presentations and discussions by a series of artists, academics, performers, poets and writers. Each of these guest speakers will address and explore questions surrounding the nature of reading in the contemporary age. While these discussions are intellectual in nature, ‘Augury’ is not intended to be a highly curated and formal academic seminar. Instead, the exhibition and associated event programme has been conceived as a light and inclusive social event that reflects the relaxed summer atmosphere.
The Friday evening events will be hosted by Caique Tizzi, whose cleverly-themed outdoor bars will provide specially prepared food and cocktails to compliment the friendly and relaxed feel of the programme. The evenings will feature different versions of Tizzi’s pre-existing concept bars and culminate in the launch of the newest addition, the Babes Bar.
