De Joode & Kamutzki Winter Auction

On January 27th 2013, Berlin Art Link co-presented the De Joode & Kamutzki 2013 Winter auction, hosted at the former Karl-Marx Buchhandlung in Berlin Mitte. Both well-known and emerging artists (predominantly from New York and Berlin) provided works to be sold at generous starting prices. A live video-stream from New York transformed the historic location into an art-buying-portal between Berlin and New York. Neither fame nor money were important on the night and a relaxed and liberal atmosphere pervaded. That said, the majority of the works were sold, helping to achieve de Joode & Kamutzki’s vision of: “making contemporary art accessible to ALL!”.

Berlin Art Link were integral to the overall planning of this event. We helped to source both sponsorship and the historic and central location of the night. We provided press materials and marketing support, helping the event to reach-out to new audiences and participants. We also coordinated the live stream between the auction in Berlin and Stadium Gallery New York, allowing for live bids across two locations, a feature that greatly enhanced the quality and international nature of the event.
