Open Call for Sustainable & Winter-Proof Artist Proposals

June 21, 2022

an• other here is collaborating with Bärenzwinger to announce a call for Berlin-based artists, designers or collectives to propose sustainable and winter-proof projects that invite us to walk through and around the Bärenzwinger’s locations in the winter. Two artistic positions will be selected.

This year’s program will dive deeper into understanding the primary and climatic conditions of the Bärenzwinger. Every exhibition, every artwork, and every performance that has been seen in this space so far has been affected to a greater or lesser extent by external conditions, such as rain, wind, cold, or heat. Oftentimes, these conditions are seen as a hindrance. This year the work will be based on deep adaptation to the existing conditions of the space and its surrounding environment. The Bärenzwinger has decided to no longer present a classic exhibition, but to shape the space with its outdoor enclosures in the form of a three-month site-specific creative residency.
