Casa Planas and the Goethe-Institut Barcelona are inviting applications for the seventh edition of their joint research and creation residency program. This initiative seeks to support innovative projects that reflect on and reimagine the cultural ties between Germany and Mallorca, with a particular focus on contemporary global mobility and tourism from cultural and sustainable perspectives. The residency aims to contribute to a renewed cultural cartography of the island.
Two grants will be awarded, providing access to the extensive Planas Archive for study, contextualization and activation. Residents will receive creative support, mentoring, opportunities to engage with local cultural practitioners and assistance with production, culminating in a public presentation of their work. The residency covers fees, production costs, transportation and accommodation.
The program is open to artists, curators and researchers residing in Germany or the Balearic Islands, working within the field of contemporary art.
