Berlin Art Week is now accepting applications for two key components of its 2025 edition, taking place from September 10th to 14th, 2025. As part of the current planning phase, both the VBKI Prize for Berlin Galleries and the Featured section are seeking submissions from across Berlin’s vibrant art community.
The VBKI Prize for Berlin Galleries 2025, awarded in collaboration with the Verein Berliner Kaufleute und Industrieller (VBKI), is open to Berlin-based galleries with three to 15 years of exhibition activity. The prize recognizes outstanding curatorial concepts presented during the festival week and aims to support the visibility and sustainability of mid-career galleries contributing to Berlin’s contemporary art landscape.
The Featured section is Berlin Art Week’s platform for exceptional formats, one-off projects and experimental practices that reflect the diversity and urgency of Berlin’s independent art scene. From collectives and artist-run spaces to performative, discursive and site-specific formats, this section invites proposals that push the boundaries of exhibition-making and public engagement.
Submissions will be evaluated based on originality, relevance, feasibility and how well the proposal reflects the evolving cultural and social dynamics of Berlin’s art context.
