Artists from the fields of literature, visual arts and composition, as well as academics with a research project on Romanticism or relating to the previously divided Germany, are invited to apply to the three-month residency at Schloss Wiepersdorf. Hosted in the historical baroque manor house built in 1735 in Brandenburg, the residency welcomes fellows from Germany and abroad.
Dedicated to fostering art and science via an interdisciplinary and international residency program, the Cultural Foundation at Schloss Wiepersdorf hosts public programs with fellows and guest experts and collaborates with guest institutions. With its current focus on the house’s history, the program includes exhibitions exploring the Romantic era, and more recently the history of the former East and West Germanies.
The residency fellowship lasts for three months and is granted for the periods March to May, June to August, and September to November 2027. Applicants in the categories of humanities and social sciences are allowed to choose a shorter period. In addition to room and board, fellows will also receive a monthly stipend of €1200 and a one-time grant of €480 for material costs (if the residency is shortened, this material grant is reduced by €160 per month). Visa costs for fellows requiring a visa for Germany will be covered.
Applicants must have completed an artistic or academic course of study, be working on a doctorate or have distinguished themselves through publications or professional artistic or academic work. German or English proficiency is required.
