Polish Art Week and the 7th Avant Art Festival return to venues across Berlin for an interdisciplinary program dedicated to contemporary experimental practices in music, performance and audiovisual art. From June 22nd to 28th, artists from Poland will join forces with key representatives of international independent scenes, presenting collaborative, improvisational projects at Silent Green, Panke, Panke Gallery, Arkaoda, Zenner, Kunsthaus KuLe, ACUD Club, Morphine Raum, Richten25 and Polish Institute Berlin.
While Polish Art Week focuses on Polish artists and international collaborations involving creators connected to the Polish scene, Avant Art Festival expands the program through projects emerging from global avant-garde and independent communities. Together, the two interconnected festivals present a broad spectrum of contemporary experimental practices: from improvisation, noise and electroacoustic music to audiovisual performance, site-specific works and transmedia projects.

The week will kick off at Panke Gallery with the opening of the immersive installation ‘The Gospels of Aerial’ by Women-Antennas, an artistic duo formed by Agata Konarska and Agata Lankamer. Combining video, gaming aesthetics and speculative fiction, the project explores transmission, embodiment and fictional communication systems. The opening evening at Panke Gallery will also see a performance by the Polish music trio Tuleje, who will present their unique mix of traditional folk music and contemporary experimental approaches.
Another highlight of the visual art programming—‘Cubature: The Art Game’ by Polish creative studio Cyber Kids on Real—is an exhibition and an experimental puzzle game that will transform the gallery of the Polish Institute in Berlin into a fully playable, immersive environment. Through modular structures, handcrafted scenography, analog photography and sound design, the project reveals how complexity emerges from the simplest elements.

Further highlights include performances and projects by Alva Noto, Antonina Nowacka, Drew McDowall & Pedro Maia, Evicshen, Chris Pitsiokos, Marta Warelis, Qba Janicki, Artur Rumiński, Jerzy Mączyński & J. “MO’ONG” Santoso Pribadi, Andreya Casablanca, Takkak Takkak, HULUBALANG and many others. On Sunday, June 28th, Alva Noto—the alias of German artist and composer Carsten Nicolai—will close the week with his audiovisual performance ‘HYBR:ID UNI PARA’ at Zenner.
Additionally, workshops, artist talks, educational activities, culinary gatherings and other community-oriented events complement the week-long program, positioning culture as a space for encounter, dialogue and exchange.
