Open Call for Curators // Spring 2018 AaBKC Residency

Article in Berlin // Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017

Are you an international curator looking to expand your network of artists and engage with Danish arts and culture? Aarhus Center for Visual Art (Aarhus Billedkunstcenter, AaBKC) invites one international curator to live and work in Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark, for its Spring 2018 Residency. From April 30–June 22, 2018, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to meet local artists and arts professionals, visit artist studios and exhibition spaces, and participate in networking meetings and cultural events, such as the monthly ART BAR networking event. The AaBKC Residency gives visiting curators the time and space they need to conduct research, write, plan exhibitions, or engage in other self-directed work, as desired; AaBKC does not expect a specific product or exhibition as the result of the residency.

The AaBKC Residency facilitates networking as a mode of curatorial research. AaBKC will provide living accommodations, work space, administrative support, discounted meals, bicycle access, and a 10,000 DKK stipend. Emerging and established curators of contemporary visual culture are encouraged to apply.
