Open Call for Forecast Mentorship 2023–24

Feb. 14, 2023

Forecast Mentorship is announcing its six new mentors and an open call for new project ideas. Artistic practitioners and cultural producers working in all creative fields from anywhere in the world are encouraged to apply to Forecast’s international mentorship programme. The call is open to applicants of all ages and does not prescribe a theme. The only requirement is to submit projects that are relevant to the expertise of the mentor the applicant wishes to work with.

This edition’s mentors are poet Gabeba Baderoon, drummer Greg Fox, visual artist Roee Rosen, fashion designer Irakli Rusadze of Situationist, photographer Mila Teshaieva, and performance artist Yuya Tsukahara. Their work engages with practices that highlight the autonomy of creative endeavors and emphasize the significance of independent art-making in today’s deeply politicized climate of cultural production and its reception.

Applicants are asked to submit their application via the online application form. The application should include basic information of the applicant, the chosen mentor’s name, the project’s core concept explained in up to 1,400 characters, the proposal (in a single PDF), portfolio, CV and an overview of the applicant’s work. The proposal should define the project idea and goals, content, format and key materials needed. If preferred, application via postal mail is also accepted. Forecast only accepts applications in English. Furthermore, all public events and communication take place in English. An artist fee and production budget, in addition to support in applying to further collaborations and/or funding, will be provided to the selected nominee and mentees.
