Open Call McKinney International Art and Design Residency

The Eskenazi School of Art Architecture + Design at Indiana University Bloomington welcomes applications from artists and designers for their 4–6 week long residency. Indiana University Bloomington is the main campus of IU’s eight campuses statewide. The campus is located 50 miles southwest of Indianapolis with over 40,000 students. Indiana University Bloomington is a cultural and artistic centre of the Midwest.

To apply, artists and designers need to have their main country of residence outside the United States, and should be actively engaged in a contemporary artistic practice and should have a record of national and international exhibitions. The selection decision will be made based on the merits of the applicant’s professional career, their dedication to being part of an academic environment, and their proposal to develop their creative process further, taking advantage of the facilities available at Indiana University.

The residency will take place for a 4–6 week period between October 1–December 11, 2020. The residency includes an honorarium of 5,000 USD and covers the studio space, lodging, travel expenses up to 2,000 USD, health insurance for the length of the appointment and art supplies (up to 500 USD).

To apply, submit a cover letter, CV, 500-word proposal, portfolio of ten images of recent work (artists) or 2 writing samples (critics/writers).
