Open Call for Akademie Schloss Solitude Fellowships

Nov. 17, 2023

Akademie Schloss Solitude announces the open call for its international and transdisciplinary artist-in-residence program. The call for approximately 65 residency fellowships from 2024 to 2026, of six to 12 months in duration, runs until November 30th, 2023.

Akademie Schloss Solitude’s wide-ranging fellowship program promotes the interrelationship of art and science across all disciplines and fields of practice. Its unique model affords artists and scientists valuable freedom to develop their work and perform research in both a physical and digital context. Residencies at Akademie Schloss Solitude enable fellows to devote themselves to their research projects under favorable material and intellectual conditions.

International artists are invited to apply from the following spheres of practice: visual (visual arts and media), aural and physical (music and performing arts), digital (digital art, gaming, digital journalism, digital publishing), spatial (architecture and design), textual (literature and language), societal (education, mediation, theory) and scientific (humanities, social, natural and economic sciences).

The residency includes a monthly fellowship grant of €1200, a living/working studio, travel expenses and health insurance. The studios vary from 30 to 50 square-meters. Fellows may use the Akademie’s carpentry and metal workshops and they also have access to a digital film editing studio, a VR studio, a printing and copying room, two small libraries and several computer workstations.

The application fee for the open call is €15. Knowledge of either German and/or English and/or French is a prerequisite for application. After registering on their website, you will be able to apply online and you will be guided through the application process.
