American nationals with a contemporary art practice are invited to apply for The Starr Fellowship for 2018–19 at the Royal Academy Schools. To help further develop the artist’s practice and foster the creation of new works, the selected fellow will receive a stipend of 26,000 GBP, a studio space at the RA Schools, and the ability to participate in the full program of academic lectures and talks, workshops and technical facilities offered by the RA Schools. The Starr Fellow will also have access to the RA Schools’ extensive collection, library and archive.
The Starr Fellowship is made possible with the support of the Starr Foundation, which was established by Cornelius Vander Starr in 1955, and the RA Schools is an independent school of contemporary fine art housed in the center of London and is part of the Royal Academy of Arts.
