The International CROSS Award enters its fourth year, calling for performing artists and musicians to submit a project and receive a 15-day residency in Verbania, Italy as well as a 7000 Euro grant for production. Three finalists will be selected for the residency, which aims to promote artistic expression related to the combination of different styles and genres, considering multi-language practices and varying performing arts techniques. Versatility in mediums such as dance, DJ-sets, music compositions and noise experimentation is encouraged.
Proposed projects must be submitted via the CROSS website and consist of a production that would be developed during the different phases of the 15-day residency. The theme for 2018 is “artists and the territories” and CROSS, therefore, wants to support productions that will favor relationships between themes of landscape, environment and/or community. The call is open to individuals as well as professionals and companies. The focus is primarily on the interaction and language of the body with music on stage. The requirements for the application can be downloaded on the CROSS website here.
Deadline: Sept. 5, 2018
