Inspired by Alexander McQueen’s “Butterfly hat” (presented in 2007 for his spring collection), Tom Schmelzer created a darker version, called “Scarab hat”. This wearable sculpture is made of 140 scarab beetles that are pierced with steel sticks and fixed on a felt cap.
