Obst und Gemüse hosted the work of four young artists, some Berlin residents, some on placements, but all producing fresh and immediate work in their own respective media. Illustrator Catherine Trainor‘s stylish observational studies of her time in Berlin were displayed alongside Sophie Millis‘s darkly sombre yet comical collages, whilst Archie Fitzgerald‘s playfully disgusting sketches provided guilty pleasure. The Lynchian photographic portraits by Stephanie Third were full of spectral menace and completed a delightfully varied collection, in which vitality was the common thread.
Downstairs featured musical performances from Ruth Maria Adam, Byron Afshar and Chamfer. The intimacy and originality added yet another creative facet to this great success of an evening.
