OPEN CALL for Performing Artists // Double-Blind Artist Exchange Program

SAVVY Contemporary in Neukölln calls for performing artists to apply for their international exchange program Double-Blind. The Double-Blind exchange program asks for artists to submit a concept, a score of a performance, or documentation of a previous performance. Once the artists are selected, each participant will be given a concept to perform while their submitted piece will be given to another chosen artist. Both artists then have three weeks to prepare for the presentation, at which time there will a double performance followed by a panel discussion.

Double-Blind is an international exchange focused on developing dialogue between artists through interactions and interpretations of each other’s work. As stated on SAVVY Contemporary’s website: “Here, exchange does not imply direct meeting, negotiation or collaborative presentation, but rather being confronted with a concept of a fellow exchange partner, without even knowing who she or he is, and from which social, aesthetic, national, or ethical background the artist’s concept derives.”

The deadline for applications is March 15, 2014.

To apply you must submit a concept paper in German or English, including samples of previous work (if applicable) along with your CV.
