Accompanying Berlin Fashion Week for the third time is the Berlin fashion Film Festival (BfFF), on July 9th and 10th. The programming, praised for its selective curation, has four screenings open to the public on Wednesday. On Thursday the 10th, the Berlin fashion Film Festival Award Show will take place, including a presentation by the artist Andrey Bartenev, whose work “Bubbles of Hope” mixes fashion, collective art, performance, and sculpture.
The screenings on Wednesday will take place at Arsenal Kino near Potsdamer Platz, featuring 70 films chosen from over 700 submissions. The films include everything from shorts to television commercials featuring some of the world’s top fashion brands and celebrities. The jury consists of a range of creative professionals, from lead curator of Vimeo, Jordan McGarry, to senior editor of Interview Magazine, Harald Peters. The films and video art are separated into 15 award categories, featuring a range from Best Cinematography to Best Hair. Leading the categories with nominations for Best Fashion, Editing, Visual Effects, Idea/Script Cinematography, and Fashion Film is Man on the Move by Romain Laurent for Hermès. Other brands and labels represented in the program include big names such as Rick Owens and Proenza Schouler, as well as local spots like Mvschi Kreuzberg.
Tickets are €10 per screening session, and are available for purchase on the BfFF festival’s website. A select number of tickets are also available for the awards show ceremony at Stummfilmkino Delphi on Thursday night.
