Amadeus Art Foundation, sponsored by the Swiss Bank Vontobel AG, has been invited to create a permanent, art supporting independent program. In 2014, the Amadeus Art Foundation launches the Vontobel-Amadeus Arts Prize.

The Vontobel-Amadeus Art Prize aims to promote contemporary Hungarian art, to expand its international relations and to support important fields of art. The first year of the program begins by linking artists and curators who move between Berlin and Budapest. The concept was made in cooperation with professional partners the Young Curators Program and the cARTc Non-profit Cultural Association.

Berlin is the guest city of this year’s Art Market Budapest contemporary art fair, providing an opportunity to organize the winning exhibition related to the year’s artistic concept and to award the Prize.

The program is seeking exhibition proposals from Hungarian or German curators / curator groups. Those entries have an advantage where Hungarian and German artists together provide a curatorial exhibition concept.

Applications are open to all Hungarian and German curators and art professionals under the age of 40. At the end of the application period a winner concept is selected, which will be implemented at the time (9-12 October 2014) and venue (Millennium) of the Art Market Budapest contemporary art fair on a 20 m2 stand. The winners will receive their prize at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
