Open Call for Zone C’s Artist in Residency Program at Project House Potsdam

Nov. 18, 2018

The 2019 Zone C artist-in-residency program is now open for artists, architects and city researchers passionate about urban development and unique ways of living. Project House Potsdam invites two artists to stay in their onsite trailers for a three-week period, between June and September 2019. The trailers are currently being set up on the grounds of Project House Potsdam in Berlin/Brandenburg.

During the three week residency participants are encouraged to engage with the programs at the project house, and to actively research and work with the community on issues of housing in Berlin, Potsdam and the wider “Berlin Zone C.” They are particularly looking for process-oriented artists who might enter the community with the intent of collaborating with its residents and who will respond artistically to the ongoing debates about the scarcity of living, raising rents and pressure of commercialization in Berlin, Potsdam and other places in Brandenburg.

During the residency, Project House Potsdam-Babelsberg will give participants access to all components of the Project House, including practical workshops such as woodwork, metal and pottery. Project House staff will connect artists-in-residence with a wide network of house projects and art spaces in Potsdam and Berlin. The residency includes a honorarium of 400 Euros and assistance with travel and visa issues.

It is the hope of the organizers that, following the conclusion of the residency, whatever work the artists have created will prevail and continue to nurture the existing infrastructure of the area.
