Beyond Matter is an international, interdisciplinary project that deals with questions of how to revive past landmark exhibitions, how to document current exhibitions and how to disseminate the documentation in innovative ways. The overall objective of the project is to develop novel solutions for the accessible documentation and presentation of exhibitions that currently exist.

This residency gives artists and theoreticians an opportunity to live and work in Karlsruhe, Tallinn or Tirana for a period of two months. Particularly encouraged to apply are not only those working in the field of virtual media but also artists and theoreticians with various artistic and theoretical practices. Each fellow will be granted free accommodation, a stipend and coverage of production costs, as well as fully-funded travel expenses.

The residencies will take place in each of the three locations, between September 1–October 31, 2020 and May 1–June 30, 2021.

To apply send your contact information, letter of intent (max. 5000 characters), brief informative CV (max. 1 page) and your portfolio (max. 10 MB) to residencies@beyondmatter.eu In your application specify the location of the residency you are applying for.
