The 2022 Taiwan Pitch Nonfiction Short Film Fund invites students worldwide to submit proposals for short films that portray Taiwan from different perspectives and viewpoints. Eligible are proposals for non-fiction films between 7–15 minutes long that are suitable for online viewing and new media platforms. Finalists will receive a film production grant of 10,000 USD and a fixed reimbursement for travel expenses and accommodations as part of their participation in the “Talent Village Workshop” held in Taiwan. Three films will be selected as outstanding works. The three winners will receive cash awards of 10,000, 8,000 and 6,000 USD, respectively.
The week-long Talent Village Workshop will be held in early August 2022. The workshop will involve storytelling, creative screenplay writing, cinematography, film editing and budgeting led by Taiwanese and international industry professionals. The invited lecturers will serve as mentors to the selected student finalists. They will provide support and advice during the different stages of film production. The final films will premiere on TaiwanPlus, an international video streaming platform. Through its official website and app, audiences worldwide will have access to the films produced in this program.
Proposed films must be in English and should be in development or in the earliest phases of production. The application deadline is April 30, 2022. Current students can watch this video FAQ and submit their written proposals along with a copy of their student ID on Tawain Pitch’s website.
