Casa Planas, together with the Goethe-Institut, is announcing the fourth edition of its artistic research residencies. Aiming to develop and produce innovative projects that illuminate and reflect the cultural relations between the Planas Archive and German culture, they are calling on artists, thinkers, researchers, cultural producers and curators living and working in Germany to take part. The residency programme will offer creative mentoring and organise meetings with artists, curators, social groups and experts from the desired fields.
Applicants shall be judged in a two-phase process, where two scholarships will eventually be granted. The management of Casa Planas makes an initial selection of candidates. The jury will be composed of a representative of the Goethe-Institut Barcelona, a representative of Casa Planas and an external expert.
To apply, prospective applicants should submit a single PDF document with their contact details, a short presentation of their artistic research project (no more than 200 words), a link to their website or portfolio (maximum seven pages), and a short curriculum vitae. Applications will be assessed on whether the proposal reflects on relations between the Planas archive and German culture, enables social participation, includes a gender perspective, takes into account a reduction of environmental damage, is feasible, has an impact on the cultural, artistic and social spheres, and is coherent with the artist’s career. Applications must be submitted in English or Spanish.
The residency will run from September 1st until October 28th. Successful applicants will be granted a total amount of 4600€, of which 1000€ must be spent on the production of their work. The grant does not include accommodation or travel costs, however Casa Planas can provide the artists with information and recommendations regarding accommodation.
The deadline for submitting applications with the required documents is midnight on June 1st, 2022. Submissions should be sent to the email address email@example.com.
