Open Call for Berlin Program for Artists

Sept. 1, 2022

Berlin Program for Artists, a two-year mentorship program between emerging and established Berlin-based artists, is currently accepting applications for their 2023-2024 cycle. BPA is an artist-led organization centered around mutual studio–visits between participants and mentors. The ideal applicant would have recently completed a masters-level education or be able to present artwork of a comparable level. Applicants should also be living and working in Berlin during the working cycle and must be able to present their work from their own workspace. Please note that BPA is neither a residency program nor a school, as it does not provide studio space or any qualification upon completion of the program. BPA consists of studio visits and meetings that occur twice a month from January until December, with a summer break from July until October.

Partaking in the program is free of charge and successful applicants receive financial support to produce new work. Participants are also given the opportunity to exhibit work in both artist-run spaces and established institutions, including a yearly exhibition of participants’ work at KW Institute for Contemporary Art. The open call for BPA’s next cycle starts on August 21st and ends at midnight on September 23rd, 2022.

Application materials include a PDF with documentation of artwork, a CV in English and a completed application form
