Between Bridges is starting a new biennial exhibition grant for visual artists. Founded by Wolfgang Tillmans, Between Bridges is a foundation and non-profit exhibition space committed to the arts, LGBT+ rights and anti-racism work.
Any professional individual visual artist, artist duos or small group working collaboratively in any discipline is eligible to apply unless enrolled at a university at the time of application. The first residency will take place from January to June 2023 and will be divided into a working phase and a 1-month exhibition or public presentation.
The residency includes the use of the facilities at Keithstraße 15 in Berlin Schöneberg on the ground floor of a residential building. Although the residency program is unable to provide living accommodations, the facilities (100 sqm) include a workshop/storage, office, small kitchen and bathroom. The residency includes a monthly stipend of € 1,000 and the opportunity for studio visits with arts professionals from the network of Between Bridges. For the exhibition, a production budget will be granted. The show will open at the end of April during Gallery Weekend Berlin, run for 5 weeks, and be promoted via Between Bridges’ distribution channels and documented on their website.
