Berlin cultural centre Bärenzwinger is inviting artists to take part in this year’s exhibition program. The call is open to all professional artists as well as designers and collectives who have completed a training and are resident in Berlin. The theme of the autumn exhibition is “gleaning,” understood not only as a collecting practice but as the general practice of reviewing and re-evaluating the functionless and unusable within the realm of technology and the digital world.
In order to apply, artists must submit in one pdf document a project proposal, an overview of their technical requirements, a portfolio including pictures and a CV. The work production is financed with up to €625 per artistic position. Artists will be provided transport, a set-up team, press work and visitor service.
As Bärenzwinger is a former animal enclosure, the project proposal should also be considered against the background of the specific symbolism of the place and space. From the applications, two individual projects will be selected and announced at the beginning of June. Inquiries can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deadline: Apr. 30, 2023
