Recently on our radar: Fire Station Artists Studios, an artist residence program in Dublin, Ireland. For twenty years Fire Station has subsidized residential studios that provide self-contained, secure living and working spaces for professional visual artists.
Studios are let between a period of one year and two years, nine months. Shorter periods are also possible. Rental includes all apartment necessities plus full use of high-end computers and access (at subsidized cost) to digital equipment including digital still cameras, digital camcorders and mini disc recorder tripods and more.
This year, Fire Station will launch an organized Studio Visits Program in which curators from Dublin and around the country will visit resident artists. Specific efforts will also be made to invite visiting international curators and writers.
Interested in living and working in Ireland? All forms of visual artists are encouraged to apply, but students of any kind are not eligible. Your application should include:
A cover letter
A current CV and documentation of your work
Residency work plan
An image list
This year’s residential studio application deadline is Aug. 28, 2013.
